A Life of My Own (ALOMO)
is an independent living program geared towards creating and maintaining
stability in the lives of the developmentally disabled through offering tailored
support to individuals as they increase their ability to care for themselves
while living on their own. Individuals participating in ALOMO will
live in Decatur’s Williamsburg apartment complex. GCSS staff will be on site 24
hours a day/ seven days a week to ensure that sufficient support is available to
all participants. If securing employment is an issue, the GCSS program,
EmployABILITY, will provide assistance.
Who is eligible?
Individuals 21 years of age and older who have been diagnosed with developmental
disability.
How is it funded?
There are several payment options for
ALOMO:
- State Contracted Services (Grant in Aid Funds)
- Medicaid Waiver Program
- Private Pay
- Third Party Sponsorship
